There are many prizes that await you at Librarians Rock! ...Mega Audio Book Package giveaway donated by Recorded Books, 50/50 raffle, and all the Silent Auction items.

So, what are you waiting for if you haven't bought your ticket yet?  You don’t have to sing to enjoy this raucous event, it will be just as much fun to watch! Be there: Wednesday, October 23rd.  Doors open at 7:30 with the event starting at 8:00.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door with a cash bar.  This WLA Foundation fundraiser event, in addition to Recorded Books' audio book donation, is being sponsored by Engberg Anderson, Maris and Quality Books.

If you are still sitting on the fence about attending, are you wondering just who will be performing at this amazing musical showcase? When this all began back in spring asking for singers and musicians to participate, we said you and your colleagues would be the stars of the show and that's just what we have in store for you.

How about.
...

Singing during the finale event of the evening and vying for the first ever title of Wisconsin Librarian Idol (they will be singing for your donations to the WLA Foundation to claim the crown):

  • Cheryl Becker (Library Consultant), John DeBacher (DPI), Don Litzer (T.B Scott PL-Merrill), Elizabeth Timmins (Muehl PL-Seymour) and a group entry, The Queens, featuring Jennifer Thiele (Marinette Co. PL), Shannon Crawford Barniskis, Renee Bennett-Kapusniak & Adriana McCleer (all UW-Milwaukee SOIS PhD Students)

Prior to Librarian Idol, belting it out with the live band will be:

  • Shawn Brommer (South Central LS), Nate Deprey (Beloit PL), Jamie Matczak (Nicolet Federated LS), Melissa Platkowski (UW-Green Bay), and Jennifer Theile.
  • In addition, you will be sure to be enterained by the two super singing groups, The Committee and The Board.

Opening the evening with instrumental and original music are:

  • DoAnn Holzman (Dept. of Corrections) and Bruce Smith (WiLS).
  • Steev Baker (Kewaskum PL) was going to perform his original music, but he is no longer able to attend.  In the absence of Steev's performance, you should check out his music at http://steevbaker.bandcamp.com/.  It has many free downloads.

Leading the live band, Book Enz, that will back up all the singers:

  • Jon Mark Bolthouse (Fond du Lac P.L.)
  • Thursday keynote speaker Sergio Dogliani will join Book Enz near the end of the event to play a featured set of rockin' tunes!

Oh, and something about a surprise appearance by The King?  You'll need to attend to find out!
