Heading to WLA in La Crosse? Looking for a fun way to break up your sessions? Not going to the conference, but up for a run/walk with fun people? Check out the 2012 WLA Conference "Bookin' It in La Crosse" 5K Fun Run/Walk, October 25, 7:30 a.m. This brisk 3.1 mile run/walk will take place in La Crosse's beautiful Riverside Park and will be a great way to rejuvenate your body and mind. Can you name the top priorities of the Wisconsin Library Association? Could you name some recent decisions made by your elected WLA board of directors? Could you pick out the board members in a crowd? Attend the annual WLA membership meeting, and you will be able to do all three! Also called the business meeting, this legally required annual meeting will be held Thursday, October 25, 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Radisson as part of the annual WLA Conference. The agenda is now available. All WLA members are encouraged to attend. There is no charge to attend the meeting; you need not pay the conference registration fee. However, you are required to fill out the conference registration form. Select the “business meeting only” option on the form....

The WAAL 2012 Conference Planning Committee is accepting proposals for posters to be presented at Quest for Excellence: WAAL 2012. The conference will take place at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, April 17-20, with the poster session scheduled for Thursday April 19 from 3:30-5PM.To submit a poster session proposal, please send the following information to Leah Ujda (ujda@wisc.edu):1. Abstract of the poster content (150 words or less). The submitted abstract for accepted proposals will appear in the conference program.2. Presenter name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and contact information.3. Type of equipment you will bring.All poster presenters will be assigned a skirted table space.
