Take a look at our contributors’ guidelines, and then complete the form below. Whether you bring your items with you to the conference (preferred method) or send them to the WLA office (if you won’t be attending the Conference this year) please let us know in advance what you will be contributing by completing and sending us a copy of this form. The WLA Nominations & Elections Committee has tabulated the results of the 2012 WLA elections.  On behalf of the WLA Board of Directors and the Nominations & Elections Committee, I would like to congratulate all candidates for their willingness to present themselves in service to the membership.   The winners of contested elections are indicated with asterisks. Uncontested elections merely list the name of the candidate who will take office. Again, thank you to all those individuals who were willing to step forward in service to the profession.  Your colleagues are grateful for your leadership. Whereas, it is one of the many and varied duties of the WLA Parliamentarian to "Assist the President, the Board and WLA members in presenting resolutions to the annual business meeting, through the provision of guidelines, instructions and personal assistance (excluding substantive writing) before and during the annual conference;" and Whereas, the annual business meeting is coming up in a few short weeks, it's time to get thinking about those resolutions. As you'll note in the guidelines from WLA Organization Manual 440.3, the resolution must be "related to the purposes of the Wisconsin Library Association, Article II..." Therefore, be it resolved that if you have an idea for a resolution, please review the guidelines and contact me as soon as possible. We need to get the text of your resolutions to the printer by October 1. Thanks. Pete GilbertWLA Parliamentarian, Etc.peter.j.gilbert@lawrence.edu...

2012 has been a year of creativity, hard work, and real progress for the Wisconsin Library Association.  Thanks to great ideas from the membership; our Ad Hoc Committees on Membership, Leadership, and Professional Development; and the WLA Board; we are well on our way toward building a strong future for our association.  I am more confident than ever that the intelligence and commitment of our members is more than a match for any economic, technological, or political challenges that our libraries and our association may face.  Working with you all has been a real inspiration for me. At the June and August meetings of the WLA Board, we approved a long list of strategies to make the association more efficient and effective.  The Board is actively exploring collaborations and partnerships with a wide range of other library-related organizations.  In addition to improvements in the areas of membership, leadership, and professional development;...
