Registration is now OPEN for the WLA Annual Conference, Better Together @ 125!  Let's celebrate 125 years of WLA! Our state library association makes us "better together" - and we've been at it for over a century. This year's milestone conference provides us many opportunities to come together for one united goal: to serve the residents of Wisconsin. As you prepare for the conference, be sure to read our One Book, One Conference book, Meet Me Halfway: Milwaukee Stories, by Jennifer Morales. You will have an opportunity to both discuss the book on Thursday and meet Jennifer at a session on Friday. Through programs, keynotes, social gatherings and chance encounters, we hope you will be inspired to start our 126th year with strength and purpose. We hope this year's conference will reinvigorate your enthusiasm about the power of stories to bring us together. Learn more about the featured speakers, events...

Think Sunday, August 21...the warm August air envelopes you as you relax outside while the afternoon turns to dusk. You take in the sunset colors of the sky and the beauty of the water; your toes curl in the sand on the beach. Someone walks by your chair and rests a lei of flowers across your shoulders. You sigh in relaxation and take a sip from the Mai Tai in your hand. Off to your right, the torches are being lit in preparation for the night's prformance of live Polynesian music, Hula Dancers, and Fire and Knife Breathers. Even though it might seem as if you're off on the beautiful island beaches of Kauai, tonight you are actually at the WLA Foundation Summer Fundraiser and the members of the Luau Fundraiser Committee are pleased to invite you to what is sure to be one of the best events of the year!...
