Welcome!

The Conference Planning Committee invites you to attend the WAAL 2011 Conference,Renew, Energize, Sustainat the Ramada Inn in Stevens Point, Wisconsin,  April 26-29, 2011.

Message from WAAL Chair, Lisa Viezbicke:

Welcome to Stevens Point!

This year's conference planning committee has brought together a tremendous program to renew, energize, and sustain you, your work, and your libraries. Presentations and conference events provide unprecedented opportunities for conference participation.

Many of the presentation sessions have embedded audience participation - the instruction potluck, the IT interested session, and investigation of campus learning objectives partnerships. Add a little kinetic participation with evening activities on Wednesday, speed networking or Tai Chi Easy, and of course the Friday afternoon Green Circle Trail walking tour. Take one or all of these opportunities, but please don't miss the opportunity to cast your vote for the “Best of WAAL” using the on-line conference evaluation form. The contributed presentation earning the most votes will be invited to present again at the 2011 WLA Conference in Milwaukee. Along with the honor of being voted 'best in show' the WLA board will cover WLA Conference registration fees for the wining presenter(s). Also new this year, ribbons will be awarded to poster session contributors.

Tremendous thanks to the conference planning committee for the time, talent, and creativity they've given to merge traditional and new elements. I hope this year's conference provides the right balance of energy – what is brought and what is taken away – for each participant and the group. Great thanks to all of you for your presence and participation in this year's conference, in our Association, and in the Wisconsin library community.
