The Wisconsin Library Association Government Information Special Interest Group serves librarians and other library staff who work with the information provided in all formats by government agencies at the local, state, federal, and international levels. Membership in the WLA Government Information Special Interest Group is open to any WLA member.

The Government Information Special Interest Group sponsors the annual Government Information Day conference; sponsors other workshops; sponsors presentations at Wisconsin Library Association conferences; works to support full and free access to federal, state, and local government information in Wisconsin; and publishes the GISIG Blog.

Historically, the Government Information Round Table (GIRT) published the Eagle Press newsletter and presented the annual Wisconsin Distinguished Document Award.
