Decision-Making Boot Camp for Leaders
Registration Fee: $25 WLA Members / $40 Non-Members
Kathleen A. Paris, Consultant, Madison, WI
Attend this workshop and gain practical tools and techniques for making effective decisions in complex systems. Experience a lively World Café process, which can be used to gather stakeholder input for decision-making and planning. You will learn how asking the right questions for decision-making in a complex system is far more important than knowing "the right answer" up front. Finally, you will learn how to use the interest based approach to collaborative decision-making, which was introduced in the best-seller, Getting to Yes (3rd Edition) by Fischer, Ury and Patton, 2011.
Participants are asked to complete a self-assessment of their current decision-making practices prior to the workshop and to bring a copy of it to the workshop. The free online assessment is available at http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newTED_79.htm
