What kind of library leader do you need to be? If you answered, "It depends," you're already practicing situational leadership. This pre-conference will help you hone the skills you need to identify and resolve issues facing your library (or department, unit, or committee), becoming a more effective leader in the process. Drawing on her studies in Management and Organizational Behavior and her thirteen years of experience as a professional working with all types of libraries, Gretel Stock-Kupperman will demonstrate how to assess the challenges and opportunities facing your organization using specific observation and listening skills. She will also review the importance of both personal and institutional goals and how effective strategic planning helps turn ideas into actions. Please join us for an exciting and interactive session that will leave you both inspired and prepared to become the leader your library needs now!
