Continuing Education Scholarships and Grants

WLAF George Bauer Memorial Fund Continuing Education Scholarship
Must be employed in a library in Wisconsin. Scholarship amount determined annually; $850 in 2016. Application deadline: July 18. Click here for online application.

WLAF Gloria Hoegh Memorial Fund Education for Rural Librarians Scholarship
Must be a library employee working in a Wisconsin community with a current population of 5,000 or less or who works with library employees in those communities. Scholarship amount determined annually; $900 in 2016. Application deadline: July 18. Click here for online application.

Resource Sharing Round Table
RSRT offers up to $175 for a member of RSRT to attend WLA, WAPL, WAAL or SSCS. Deadline: April 4

Wisconsin Association of Academic Librarians
WAAL Conference Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students and academic paraprofessional staff. Deadline: Varies

Wisconsin Small Libraries  
WISL offers $400 to attend the WLA Conference. Deadline: August 1

WLAF Library Education Scholarships

For students pursuing an MLS at UW-Madison SLIS or UW-Milwaukee SOIS.

Library Education Scholarship
Must be a current or permanent Wisconsin resident admitted to a master's degree program in library and information science at a Wisconsin school during the coming academic year beginning with the fall term as a part-time or full-time student. Application deadline is July 18. Scholarship amount determined annually; it will be $1,400 in 2016. Click here for online application.

Sally Davis Scholarship
Must be a current or permanent Wisconsin resident admitted to the master’s degree program in the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison during the coming academic year beginning with the fall term as a part-time or full-time student. Application deadline is July 18. Scholarship amount determined annually; it will be $1,350 in 2016. Click here for online application.

Vida Cummins Stanton Scholarship
Must be a current or permanent Wisconsin resident admitted to the Master's degree program in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee during the coming academic year beginning with the fall term as a part-time or full-time student, pursuing a career in school library media or youth services program.Application deadline is July 18. Scholarship amount determined annually; it will be $1,600 in 2016. Click here for online application.

Diversity Scholarship
WLAF also awards a scholarship to a student of African-American, Latino/Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander or Native American/Alaskan Native descent who has been admitted to a master's degree program in library and information science at a Wisconsin school for the coming academic year. Recipients are selected by UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee in alternate years.
